GP2 is the best ever sim-racing game ever released and many people still prefer it. If we talk about for modding forgot about it. GP4 indeed is a good game but its still bugged and with the newer mods you must have a good PC for it. GP3/2000 are easy to edit too but the shape edititng is terrible with so many polygons and parts And the painting of the cars is take very long time GP3 also have a many many mods but its more abandoned than GP2 because GP3 modders prefer GP4 to show their skills. Like you say GP2 its better that is 100% true and it can be runned in very old machines that is a big + Also GP2 is very easy to edit and yuo use only 1 or two programs to do it, not like GP4 where you must be 3d artist to make good stuff.
